Whoops, They Did It Again Again Again
Another explosion at an ammunition depot in Russia:
The explosion was the result of a safety breach which occurred during ammunition stacking in a small town of Mulino, an Army source reported.
A safety breach? And the first clue was?
I’ve often written that the Russian military has a huge software problem: these repeated ammunition handling disasters are a particularly graphic example of that. Untrained, unmotivated conscripts supervised-or not-by unmotivated and unprofessional officers are accidents waiting to happen. And the wait isn’t long. Yet Putin wants to spend huge sums on hardware. The mind boggles.
I always wonder if they’re selling stuff on the black market, and “accidentally” blow some of it up to keep the loss from looking too obvious.

The 2020 rearmament program is already being scaled back.

@NinaIvanovna-Yes. I agree. I’ve suggested that in earlier posts I wrote on the subject.
