Prayers for Andrew

Filed under: Uncategorized — The Professor @ 9:04 pm

This blog is hosted by my brother-in-law, Andrew.  He was recently diagnosed with a massive brain aneurism, and yesterday (and into the early morning today) he underwent 14 hours of surgery.  The initial prognosis is good, but all prayers are welcome.

Andrew is a remarkable man.  He’s intelligent, creative, hard working, and inquisitive.  He’s done many things in his life, from art to sales to web design to food service.  He’s a pretty amazing autodidact, having just written a book on the evolutionary origins of autism, amongst other things.  An online version is here.

It would be the understatement of the century to say that Andrew and I are worlds apart politically, and in worldview.  But we get along quite well because he is truly tolerant, tries to understand, and does not personalize difference.  We debate, we disagree, but we respect.  Would that more were like him.

My prayers are with you Andrew.  Get well soon.
