One Good Link Deserves Another
William Sjostrom, an American economist at the National University of Ireland in Cork (and South Side native and UC alum and fellow core theory/ocean shipping aficionado) linked to my post on the Friedman Institute. Bill has the goods on the intersection between the set of U of C faculty that belong to the Bill Ayres fan club and the set that has gone on record opposing the Institute. Not that I am surprised in the least.
I support (as in don’t mind) naming an economics institute after M. Friedman, but the hounding of Ayers for his heroic stand against the oppressive system is disgraceful and unacceptable – a prison system of which William is a part, but thinks of as a palace, from whose balconies he denounces and smears those whose views don’t coincide with his, like the 17 brave Chicago professors – those courageous enough to point out that the palace is indeed a prison. Neo-conservatism is the totalitarianism of the 21st century.

Brilliant satire, DR. Swiftian, almost.
