This Sh*t is Getting Old
But hopefully it’s over. Fingers crossed.
The latest outage was due to a a serious attack on the site. According to my hosting service, “someone has implemented ‘Black Hat’ strategies on your site. ” This resulted in the creation of 49K duplicate pages without canonical tags and 70K excluded pages, which pinged the site repeatedly bringing it to its knees. This took more than 2 weeks to repair.
But–again, fingers crossed–I’ve installed several additional security features that should prevent a recurrence of these outages. But since I’ve clearly been targeted, no doubt these measures will be tested.
Thanks for sticking with me.
I’d say that’s a win for Streetwise
Good form!

The more they attack the more valuable your work becomes.

Igor Sechin is very, very mad at you.
Great to have you back. Maybe just put us on an email distribution list!

@Professor
whatever the meaning of “duplicate pages” and “excluded pages” is, the inability to recreate a simple blog from scratch in a matter of minutes is indicative of an overall poor technical solution. Clearly Igor has more resources, even without CEFC, but you are making it too easy for him.

Your freedom has been repeatedly attacked, which means my freedom has been repeatedly attacked. I’ve been reading your stuff for years now, keep up the good work!!! In the end, the enemies of freedom lose.

SWP:
It is similar [Al Gore’s] internet-wise to the B52 that generated false radar images to Soviet radar defenses in Fail Safe.
Sincerely glad U R back. Out here in the hinterlands, there is so little accurate & entertaining info.

Welcome back. Here in Britain one of our smaller banks has had its software radically improved by its Spanish owners and their software aces. Calamity! In fact calamity for about ten days now, and nobody knows when it will end.
I know chaps, let’s introduce our new software just before the end of the month to bugger up everyone’s salary and mortgage transactions, they doubtless said in Spanish.

Great to have you back, SWP!
all I got was “site is under maintenance”
