Coincidence? Merton’s Theory of Multiples? Theft?
SWP, 18 March 2013: “Cyprus: The Essence of FUBAR.”
Krugman, 21 March 2013: “Cyprus: The Sum of All FUBAR.”
It wouldn’t be the first time someone has lifted something from SWP, but Krugman? The mere possibility forces me to re-evaluate my thinking on Cyprus. But then again, you know what they say about blind hogs and acorns.

I thought it was “pigs running around with sticks in their mouths” Oh, that when it’s supposed to rain…when it rains, it pours; and Krugman jumped up and down saying the big-arse stimulus wasn’t enough, that it needed to be much larger. If he had his way, we would be sitting on another trillion in debt. I don’t know, just a thought 😉

@EconMaestro-The pig idioms are endless! What you mention re Krugman and stimulus is exactly why his, uhm, echoing of my FUBAR title/post has me questioning myself 😛
I was thinking about clocks but anything about clocks or daily timing and Krugman just ain’t going to go. Maybe 1mm monkeys and typewriters?
As regards questioning yourself because you and the termite-inator agree on something, remind yourself this is a kind of ad hominem attack – leave the fallacies to the K-mite.
If you need further reassurance, look in the mirror and ask yourself these questions:
Am I a nasty man who vents his spleen in print as a cost effective alternative to anger management therapy?
Have I prostituted myself into being the bien pensant lapdog of th NY Times?
Have I taken money from Enron?
In sum, am I a hypocritical malignant midget?
If the answer is no to anyone of the above, you are not Krgers and any similarities are either accidental or plagiaristic.

It may be going too far to say that bankruptcy for Cyprus would only tighten the economic noose around Bashar al-Assad’s neck, but whatever ultimately happens, “debt restructuring” affords an excellent opportunity for finding out who’s been up to no good in ‘Limassolgrad’ and facilitating barbarism a few points of longitude away, right under the EU’s nose.
